London, I’m back! Aside from my return trip to Toronto for Caribana, London is the only international city I’ve been to more than once; my first visit was October 2016. Because I consolidated my photos from the Toronto trips into one post, this is my first “revisited” post. Welcome.
London is a wonderful city. If I were to move to a city outside of the U.S., it would probably be London. I would be hesitant, because of the usual weather (as you will see in these photos), but as far as what I’m used to: the big city feel, plethora of activities to do and things to see, diversity, and opportunity, it would be a comparable experience to Chicago. My pockets likely would not agree, but that’s what’s lovely about hypotheticals.
This time around, I did some of the same things, like went to see the Big Ben, which was unrecognizable this time due to construction, Buckingham Palace, since I didn’t go in last time (and didn’t this time – perhaps third time is the charm), and Tate Modern Gallery, because at this point, I needed to get out of the cold and rain, and I still love art. I also had some new experiences, like taking the public transportation – Underground (with my Oyster card, might I add – local status), being carted around for £10 (that rhymed, in case you didn’t catch it), the London Eye at the Westminster Pier, and the brunch experience at the Ivy Chelsea Garden. If/when I return, I will plan to enter the Palace and experience some sunshine, but I don’t want to set my sights too high.
