One word: chocolate. Brussels is famous for its chocolate; not to mention its also highly-famous waffles. So needless to say, it was a delicious trip. We visited a chocolate museum and watched the different stages of preparation. We learned that Ivory Coast is the #1 exporter of cacao, and just by coincidence, that was our next trip. We explored the city and learned about its history, including the fact that it was heavily modeled after Paris in its architecture. I would recommend a city walking tour; you learn so much about the buildings and statues that capture you but of which you have little context. And of course, we indulged in the waffles. I’d make a return trip just for the chocolate and waffles.
