Reykjavik, Iceland.

I had my sights on Iceland for about a year. I had almost purchased a flight deal to Reykjavik in November of 2016, but decided to wait on it, in case we could fit the location into a work trip. Good thing I waited, because we were able to tag it on the end of our trip in September.

Reykjavik is not a big town. Most of the wonder is outside of the city center. When we touched down, we went into the city to grab dinner: there are a good amount of restaurants, bars and clubs in the downtown area. Saturday, we set out for the Golden Circle: a sight-seeing tour of Southern Iceland including sites such as Þingvellir National Park, the Gullfoss waterfall, and the geothermal area in Haukadalur, which contains the geysers Geysir and Strokkur. Afterwards, we found, what had to be, the only Ethiopian restaurant in the country. Sunday, we went to do a city tour and see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) – an incredible sight to see. Monday, we made a beautiful, scenic road trip about two hours south of Reykjavik to volcano cave – we learned so much, and it was a very indescribable experience. That night, we went to the Blue Lagoon: a geothermal spa located in a lava field. It was cold 40-45 outside, but the water was between 80-90 degrees. Like a natural, blue jacuzzi!

Most photos taken with Nikon D5100, with the exception of the sunset (My camera wasn’t around, and I didn’t want to miss it), and the photos at the Blue Lagoon (maybe for obvious reasons).
