Madrid and Barcelona, Spain.

In November 2016, I began a new job in internal audit. This role required me to travel to the Company’s different business units to perform financial audits. These business units are located across the US and around the world. This is what lit the spark for me to begin documenting my travel journey (and bringing my professional camera along). Up until now, I traveled if I found flight deals, friends were going, or just occasionally for vacation, and I took all pictures with my phone. Even though I got my DSLR in 2015, I did not care to carry it around with me and be tourist-y. But now, I knew I would be traveling frequently and getting to experience some amazing places that I probably couldn’t have afforded to travel to on my own dime. Now was the chance to merge my passions. My first work trip was to Madrid, Spain, with the weekend spent in Barcelona, Spain, and a personal leg in Athens, Greece.

Madrid is a lovely city. Barcelona is full of street art and talent. Both cities were lively and full of energy. Spaniards eat late compared to people in most other places I’ve been, they value conversations and relationship-building in the workplace, and they have tiny elevators to be even more acquainted. Dinner is comprised of tapas plates, guaranteed with plenty of flavor, and paired with a nice wine. Barcelona nightlife scene doesn’t end until the sun rises. There’s no way you won’t have a good time!

All photos taken with Nikon D5100 (except the club photo… can’t be that person in the club).
